Surrounded by typical terraces with dry stone walls, the town stands out on a rocky spur that wedges itself into the crystalline sea.

The first inhabitants settled on the heights, near the current sanctuary of the Madonna di Reggio and from the year 1000 they went down to the sea. Having become the maritime center of the Obertenghi family, the village was ceded to Genoa in 1209 and subsequently fortified, with walls, bastions and watchtowers on the sea that still exist today.

Vernazza offers its visitors religious monuments such as the parish church of Santa Margherita d’Antiochia and the Church of San Francesco and military buildings, including the Doria Castle overlooking the maritime horizon.

Tourists can cool off in the serene waters accessible from the beach located in front of the church of Santa Margherita and from the rocky coast that faces to the right, towards Monterosso.

Ho soggiornato nell'appartamento Gallery22 di La Spezia: eccezionale. Si trova a pochi minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria e dal porto e nonostante si trovi in centro è particolarmente silenzioso.
La casa è dotata di tutti i comfort ed è elegantemente ristrutturata.
Nella zona ci sono tantissimi negozi e supermercati.
Tutto lo staff di Terre Marine è stato disponibilissimo, professionali e gentili.
Se  cercate case in affitto nella zona delle Cinque Terre non esitate a contattarli. Grazie per aver reso speciale la nostra vacanza
